History  

 

1984 incorporated in the State of South Carolina . Began services in the Carolina Children's Home, with the Rev. L. Samuel Sebring as the Rector

1988 land donated and dedicated on the SE corner of N. Beltline Boulevard and Verner Road

1989 new church built and dedicated by the Rt. Rev. Robert S. Morse

1995 The Rev. Craig E. Young, SSC, was called as the second Rector

1990 – present, the Church hosted, on average, a diocesan synod or clericus once every 3 years, with clergy and laity attending from all over the United States and England .

1995 – present, the Church took a leading role in training 7 men for the ministry

1995 – present, Epiphany was active in establishing two summer youth camps, one in North Carolina and one in Pennsylvania. Today it supports a youth camp in North Carolina and a youth conference in Michigan .

2003 the Church joined the Diocese of the Holy Cross, and became its Pro-Cathedral

2003 Epiphany took on its first full time curate (assisting priest), Fr. Paul Sterne

2005 Fr. Sterne set up a full time student ministry on the USC Campus as part of Epiphany's outreach, St. Theodore's Chapel and the C.S. Lewis Student Center .

2007 a steeple was donated, installed and blessed

2009 upon the death of Fr. Young, Bp. Paul Hewett became the third Rector

2010 the mortgage on the property was paid off

2011 on January 6, the Parish's Feast of Title, the Church was consecrated by Bp. Hewett
